Your money is in safe hands

Last year, more than 76,219 generous supporters trusted Tearfund to help people living in the most extreme poverty. By donating, fundraising and leaving gifts in your wills – you've helped to bring change in the places of greatest need.

Reasons to trust Tearfund

In our disaster work, it's our adherence to international standards and the quality of our response, reflected in the accreditations we hold and the endorsements given to our work.

In our work through churches, it's our commitment to transparency and accountability that gives donors certainty their money gets directly to the places of greatest need.

In our financial management, it’s the 86 pence (2024/25) in every pound spent on life-changing work in the poorest communities.

In our faith, it’s our commitment to follow Jesus where the need is greatest.

Stewarding donations

To steward donations responsibly, funds that can’t be used to achieve impact straight away are held temporarily as cash or near cash. This means a return (such as bank interest) can be secured, whilst keeping the donations ready to be used as soon as they are needed. Any investment return on funds will go to support Tearfund’s work wherever the need is greatest around the world.

Why our supporters give

  • Because through Tearfund I'm empowered to make a difference in parts of the world that I have no access to. I get to love my furthest neighbours.

How we maximise the impact of every pound

86p funds life-changing projects

That includes ensuring earthquake survivors like Saleh[*] in Syria have food and shelter and empowering the Lihukwa villagers in Zambia.

86p 14p

14p ensures we can continue to transform lives tomorrow

This covers fundraising costs, which will help us raise more money to make sure your donation has a long-term impact.
